okcook — Privacy Policy

Applies to okcook v1.0.2 · Last updated 15 August 2026

okcook is a browser extension that turns a recipe page into ingredients, steps and a shopping list. This policy states exactly what it does with your data.

What stays on your device

Your meal plan, saved recipes, pantry items, shopping-list check-offs and display settings are stored locally through chrome.storage.local. They never leave your device, and we operate no server that holds them. Uninstalling okcook removes all of it.

Reading a recipe

When you open okcook on a recipe page, the page is read locally in your browser and nothing is transmitted.

When you paste a recipe URL into the Meal Planner, okcook fetches that page in order to extract the recipe. The request goes to the recipe website itself. We do not receive, log or store it.

Feedback you choose to send

The "Send feedback" form is the only feature that transmits anything to us, and it does so only when you press send.
